Why am I required to register before making a purchase?
Registering is quick and easy! We require only a password in addition to the email that you provide and having an account lets you keep track of your orders and stores your purchase history for our Rewards program.
Are all items authentic?
Of course they are - we wouldn't dream of providing anything else!
How often will you be receiving new items?
The Slow Exchange will update the collection every month, if not even more frequently. We like to keep up with seasonal trends or perhaps a vintage/classic will catch our eye.
How long is the rental period ?
Through the The Slow Exchange, you have the option of hiring for 4 Days (standard hire - 1 weekend) or 8 days (extended hire - 2 weekends).
If you require a longer period, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss.
Where do i collect and return my handbag?
All items from The Slow Exchange are available for pick-up in person at our premises in Pymble, NSW. The actual address will be provided after completion of rental purchase.
If you require your handbag to be personally delivered to your home, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. All deliveries at your own expense and are limited to areas on Sydney's North Shore.
We do not use courier services, given we love our handbags so much and don't want them to go missing!

How do I return my handbag?

How do I know if a handbag is available?
You are able to see if an item is available via the live calendar.
Can I book a handbag in advance?
Of course! You are able to send a booking request through and lock in the perfect handbag as early as you like.
Do I need to clean my handbag?
No. The Slow Exchange will clean each handbag upon it's return, ready for our next excited customer.
What if I accidentally damage the handbag?
We understand that accidents happen, including staining and damage of items form times to time. If this occurs during your hire, you must contact us immediately to arrange a resolution. You will be charged for any specialist cleaning or repairs necessary.
What happens in the case of an item being damaged or stolen while in my possession?

Can I rent a handbag if I am under 18?
If you are under 18 you will need a parent or guardian to rent items on your behalf, and all liability for damage or late return will be accepted by them.
When will my credit card be charged?
Once you place a booking request, a pre-authorisation will be held on your card. You will be charged the full amount once we confirm your booking.
There has been an issue with the payment – what should I do?
If you receive a payment issue message, this generally means that there are insufficient funds in the account that you have linked to The Slow Exchange. If this is not the case, make sure that all details entered are correct before reprocessing the order.
What if I am late returning my handbag?
The Slow Exchange relies on us working together to make the hire process work simply and efficiently. When a borrower returns an item late it impacts our ability to clean and prepare the item for the next borrower. In these situations, borrowers will be charged $50 per day via their credit card to reimburse us for each day that the item is late in being returned. In the event that a borrower fails to make late fees or adequate contact when required to do so, the matter will be passed on to an external debt-collection agency for recovery.
Something has come up – can I cancel my booking?
All or any cancellations must be made by the customer 48 hours prior to the delivery date.
